Gwen Stefani Donates to San Diego Foundation’s 2008
On May 17th, Gwen Stefani was seen attending the “San Diego Foundation” where she decided to personally award 16 scholarships herself. This was all part of the Scholarship Awards Ceremony that they hold every year but it made a bigger presence when Gwen walked in.
500 students were awarded with scholarships this year that equaled $2.5 Million, with people like Gwen and many others this definitely helps today’s society. I know the students were happy to be given this chance.
This wasn’t the first time Gwen Stefani has donated either, she even held a concert in 2007 and donated all $165,000 of it to the San Diego Fire Relief Fund after so many homes were destroyed. She’s definitely a lady that gives back to her community. This was called, “Gwen Stefani After-the-fires Scholarship which would only be given to those that lost their homes and/or jobs during the time.
“When the fires happened and we decided to donate the San Diego show proceeds to charity, it felt good to know that I could help in some way. To be able to meet these kids and see that the scholarships are having such an impact on their future is very rewarding. It was an exciting day.”
